Origin Story & Identity
From getting my first cookbook at 3 yrs old, to serving over 250,000 catered meals to raving customers over 35 years, to selling gourmet brownies wholesale, to owning a popular bed and breakfast, to operating the cutest tea room, I have always been in the food business. Cooking has been my passion as long as I can remember. Then 2020 happened. My tea room closed but I was considered essential so I made ready to heat casseroles for everyone staying at home. My lease was up 2 months later so I let the space go as nobody was holding events or wanting to eat out.
Five years previously, I was visiting my daughter in Chicago and we went to her local spice store. Upon walking in, it smelled so good, I wanted some of everything. But I knew that they would end up shoved to the back of spice cabinet because who has time to research recipes using specific spices. I told my daughter that someone should put the spices together with a specific recipe. Soon after my tea room closed, I remembered this idea. I started taking some of my recipes that I had used throughout the years and made a seasoning pack with a recipe card to go with it. I also made an all food cracker seasoning. My online store opened Oct.8, 2021 and I did my first craft show the first weekend of November.
Fun fact - I’ve always been interested in nutrition and I keep my mixes as clean as possible. I love to tell my customers “I don’t feed my family artificial ingredients, I’m not going to make money selling them to yours.”
I make mixes to help busy people cook real food quickly. I develop and test recipes, put together ingredients sourced as clean as possible, and make different lines of mixes. Every single package is individually measured to insure that you get the exact same dish every time. My mixes are made in my commercial kitchen in Lake Dallas.
I’m honestly proud of each line of mixes that I make. I talk to hundreds of shoppers at shows to see what they are looking for and what would help them to cook and eat more healthy at home. Then I’ve tried to fill those needs.

Philosophy & Practices
My philosophy is simple: I don’t feed my family artificial ingredients, and I’m not going to make money selling them to yours. I keep my mixes as clean as possible, develop and test every recipe, and source ingredients as cleanly as possible. My goal is to help busy people cook real food quickly.

Daily Life & Personal Connection to the Work
In 2013 I wrote that I wanted to create a life where I was my own boss, I created the work that I do, and that every day would be different. I’ve done exactly that. I love that every day is different and I love to wake up every morning. I am never bored or tired of my work.
My favorite way to enjoy something that I make is when I cook for my family. We are a big bunch, 17 total, and when we get together it is so easy to make a spread of quick appetizers, meals, and desserts. Many of the grandkids are old enough to cook now and they love to help. They also love to take home lots of Nana’s quick, easy mixes to make later.
I have a couple of subscription boxes that are about to be launched and there might be one or two more lines of mixes still to come.
