Sweet Nibbles Bakery

Clean, allergy-friendly bakes made for everyone at the table.

Origin Story & Identity

How did you get into baking, and what’s the story behind it all?

I've always loved baking and was told I did it well, even as a teenager. When my younger son was diagnosed with food allergies at 8 months old, it became a necessity if I wanted him to ever enjoy a special treat. In the early 2000's there were few options available, in stores!Every kid deserves a sweet treat occasionally, so I played around with receipes and started baking for him.

Do you have any certifications or special licensing?

I have a Texas Food Handlers Certificate and a Food Management Certification.

Do you have a fun fact, tradition, or personality quirk that makes your business uniquely “you”?

I started baking this way for our own fammily's needs and it has expanded and grown over the past 4 years. Everything I bake for the business is something someone in our family loves! I love to talk to people and see the smiles on their faces when they eat something I have baked!

What all do you make?

Cookies, muffins, brownies, cakes/cupcakes, pies, and cornbread!

Have a favorite treat?? Ask me to make it and I'll give it a try! I love experimenting and creating new favorites!!

What are you most proud of making?

I've been making the chocolate chip cookies and banana bread muffins the longest and I love seeing a kid's face light up when they have one for the first time!

I am also very proud of my sugar cookies, because they are not overly sweet and have no artificial food dyes!

Philosophy & Practices

How would you describe your stewardship, sourcing, and philosophy in your own words?

My philosophy is that if I wouldn't feed it to my own family and closest friends, I won't sell it!

I buy my ingredients from trusted sources and use organic ingredients unless they aren't available or it financially is not feasible to do so!

How does this reflect in your practices?

If a recipe doesn't turn out just right, it goes in the trash! Sometimes it means I try a hundred (or 20) different brands and variations to find just the right organic ingredients!

What’s something about your practices that most people don’t know — but should?

I spend many, many hours a week ensuring that my bakeware, mixers and kitchen are clean enough and have no risk for cross contamination! I take cross contamination VERY seriously! Food allergies are a VERY serious situation! Your health and safety matter to ME!

What’s the biggest challenge of making food the way you do?

Sourcing ingredients at a price that allows me to make a reasonable profit, and still offer customers a quality product!

Daily Life & Personal Connection to the Work

What’s your favorite part of the work you do every day?

Baking a sweet treat that everyone can enjoy; regardless of whether or not that person has food allergies. Some of my best customers don't have any food allergies! They just love the products I make and love that they are "clean"!

What’s your favorite way to enjoy something you make?

I love to be able to bake small cakes for special occasions and take them to the restaurant, so we can all enjoy a dessert, when normally we have no options available.

What are you excited to grow, offer, or dream up for the future of your business?

My dream is to expand and make breads and other gluten free and vegan options, as well as expand my low (or no) sugar options for those who want or need reduced sugar treats!
