Details

Earthy. Fragrant. Deeply savory.

Fresh sage from Hollow Trace Market Farm brings a woodsy, slightly peppery flavor that pairs especially well with rich, comforting foods. A little goes a long way, whether you are seasoning a full meal or crisping a few leaves in butter.

What makes it special

Fresh sage has a softer, more rounded flavor than dried sage, with an aroma that blooms beautifully when warmed in butter or oil.

It is especially good with poultry, fish, pork, beans, winter squash, sweet potatoes, and hearty soups. The leaves can also be fried until crisp for an easy finishing touch.

How to use it

  • Brown gently in butter for pasta, gnocchi, or roasted vegetables

  • Add to poultry, pork, or fish

  • Pair with sweet potatoes, butternut squash, or pumpkin

  • Stir into stuffing, soups, beans, or pan sauces

  • Dry any extra leaves for later use

From the farm

Grown in Azle by Hollow Trace Market Farm, where regenerative, organic-aligned practices guide the work. Hollow Trace uses mulch and compost to support the soil, avoids crop sprays, and does nearly everything on the bio-intensive microfarm by hand.
